I hope to be able to hatch out the files tonight as usual. We will see
    if the power holds
    out.

Hope things went well, Mike. At this writing, I think you're still in the hurricane's sights.

We live in the Tampa area, and for the past 2 days we have gotten a lot of weather
activity. Today, we experienced strong tropical force winds and a lot of rain bands
    coming through.

It is still active now and all is well so far.

Our home is probably 20 miles inland so storm surge is not really a concern for us,
    thank God.

I run 2 BBS's, one of which I run from my home. Knock on wood, we have not lost
power yet. That is unusual for Florida, but most of our power lines run underground.

Glad to hear you are apparently mostly out of harms way. The winds have reached KY this morning. Power has threatened to go out a time or two but so far has stayed on. The eastern part of the state was getting a lot of rain before Helene even became a thing. They were already having some issues with mudslides. Hopefully, they don't have too many more issues now that the Helene rain is upon them.

Effectively, this was just a wind and rain event for us with no power outage at all. Our
electric company (TECO) recently replaced all of the power poles along our main street,
and probably did some upgrades as well. Whatever they did seemed to work. This is
the first time that a rainstorm didn't take us down at all.

Today we got a little residual rain, but no much.
